Sometimes we forget that Anne is only a teenager. She has to not only handle being cooped up in the annex with so many people but she also has to contend with being a teenage girl. Still she does sacrifice. She sacrifices her space, her privacy, and even her food. This shows a maturity and understanding that is far beyond her years.
