Not at all, Tom was greedy and anxious to better himself. It didn't take him long to take Old Scratch's offer, nor did he have any pangs of guilt over their deal. The only time he felt remorse was toward the end of his life when he was of what eternity had in store for him, and even then, his only concern was for himself.
