At the end of the story it is said that Tom is the grandson of the queen . How plausible this is.?

This is very plausible, as Tom is actually the Queen's grandson, given up because of his illegitamacy. In the opening chapters, when the Queen mysteriously asks an unnamed man, "Is he still alive", the man replies, "Unfortunately no" the man said rudely with out saying your majesty . Slowly, he parted his hand from the cat and on to an orb and said "but his son is..." After stopping Tom's execution in later chapters, the Queen herself tells Tom that he is her grandson.
