The Buller Experiment was utilized in order to create a virus from DNA. A centrifuge was filled with the IL-4 Mouse gene and a frozen sample of mousepox virus (cultured), and detergent. After being placed in the centrifuge, the mixture separated..... debris fell to the bottom and plasmid rings were left floating on the surface, after which, the remainder was run through a filter. The filter itself was used to trap the DNA containing the IL-4 gene, which was then engineered into a virus. And yes.... it confuses me too!
