Consider chapter 163. Christopher is comparing how the human mind works like a computer in this chapter. A computer hold facts, something we all know, and something that Christopher understands. Computers are literal. They don't ponder philosophical questions..... . This is how Christopher thinks, thus, he doesn't need to illustrate it.
