Who is charged with the "supernatural " murder of the Putnam babies? Why?

Rebecca Nurse is arrested on the grounds that she "murdered Goody Putnam's babies. Anne Putnam had lost seven children at birth. She only had one living child, Ruth, that was sick at the beginning of the play. Mrs. Putnam blames Rebecca, the midwife, for the death of her babies.
