By the time of the end of the play, the judges feel guilty about the fact that some innocent people might have been killed. They refuse to back off. Also, the girls continue to keep the same idea of "crying out" and they also refuse to back off. When Abby accuses someone of extremely high office, she derails her credibility, but there still have been many condemned and killed; the judges feel obligated to continue their craziness of execution.
