Well, I don't think we put them on trial, or burn them, or see if they can float in a large tank of water. Puritans, like in the Crucible, came to America for a reason. Their views on the Bible and witchcraft were extreme. Today witchcraft or Wicca is, by some, considered a religion. To the masses, witches tend to be nothing more than a caricature (Halloween....). There are, of course, some people who do believe witchcraft is evil (some religious right) but that is where it ends. Our more humanistic interpretations of the law do not allow persecution of them.
