Abigail is motivated to accuse Elizabeth for a few reasons. First, Elizabeth dismissed her from service in her home because she had an affair with her husband. Second, Abigal was Elizabeth's husband, John Proctor. With Elizabeth dead, Abigail believed that nothing would stand in her way.
