One question about the crucible

* Consider the village of Salem, an extremely tight-knit Puritan community. What is the social hierarchy? Who is part of the community and who is excluded? Why? How does the hierarchy shift by the end of the play?

Any help will be greatly appreciated

This is an old question but to those having the same question, the social hierarchy is based on who's "into God" if you get what I'm saying. Those with strong relationships to God are more accepted. A good example are witches practicing evil. Or John Proctor rarely attending church. Remember how they are intolerant to other religions? Just figure it out.
