What does the priest learn about these characters?

The priest, Abbé Faria, learns that Danglars is greedy and ruthless, that he is a man who cares only for his personal wealth and standing. Danglars thinks of no one but himself, and he doesn't give a second thought to using the misfortunes of others to benefit himself.
