Dante's love at the end

So does Dante end up with Haydee at the end? It seems like they are having a secret affair together for most of the book...

Yes. Haydee tells him that she loves him after he is depressed and feeling alone. He has just gotten the young couple together on the island (a successful Romeo and Juliet) and Haydee indicates that he does not need to spend the rest of life alone. He is overjoyed...
