Michael helped David, Petra and Rosalind escape the Fringes land. He pretended to be one of the people looking for David and the others, when in actuality, he was communicating with them telepathically, ultimately enabling their escape and misleading the search team.

Petra helped David by using her telepathic abilities to communicate with a woman from Sealand. Her communication was the reason an aircraft was deployed and arrived just in time to save David and the other. They were then transported to Sealand where David experienced all the things he saw in his dreams.
