What makes Hasidism different from Reuven’s type of Jewish faith?

When Reuven asked his father why Danny is the way he is, his father told him about the origins of Hasidism, Danny's branch of the Jewish faith.

Hasidic Jews keep to tradition, though they do adapt some modern elements into their everyday lives. Otherwise, they live by the Talmud, study the Torah and their entire community is dedicated to leading a life of piety, which their name represents. In addition, Hasidic Jews primarily receive a religious education, while modern Orthodox Jews receive both a secular and religious education.
