Why does the couple commit suicide in the play?

Need a perspective intrinsic to the plot of the play and not the theme of the play. I get that even suicide in this play is absurd and has no meaning, despite having no meaning, it surely must have a reason. So what pushed them forward to commit suicide at the end?

The couple takes their own lives by jumping from the window as an answer to their hopelessness, a way to end the loneliness of their existence. The invisible guests are an illusion, a brief escape from depression and the repetiiton of the couple's daily lives. When the illusion is shattered by the orator, it seems the couple preferred their loneliness and illusions.... thus they choose to end it all.
