Are Ackley and Holden really enemies? Explain.

I don't think they go out of their way to hurt each other. They certainly dislike each other. Holden thinks Ackley is boorish, obnoxious. He is socially inept and physically disgusting; his complexion is poor and Holden suspects that he never brushes his teeth.Ackley likes to push Holden's buttons.
