i need to :

locate and describe each major setting in the book

list the charaters i meet in each setting

know how the details of the setting reveal character traits or realities in their lives

Each major setting should not be too hard. In order, the main settings would be:

Pencey Prep - focus on the prep school environment, the age of the characters and the sexual tension over girls.

New York City - with minor settings here broken down into the train, the Edmond hotel, Ernie's, Grand Central Station, the Wicker Bar, Holden's home.

The characters in each setting tend to be tied to that location based on their careers or personalities.
