need three symbols and explanation pleeeasee!

i need 3 symbols Salinger's uses and how it shows Holden's hesitancy to grow up.

i was thinking about using:

the hat
the museum
the title

or if you have different symbols i'd love those too :)

thats all very good...I believe that the token could also be one. And Allie's bASeball hat with the poems still on it. He seems to very fond of that glove....

how bout the Carousel at the end, with Phoebe in it, Holden didn't want to go with her for a ride, so this shows a kind of maturity
