The Candy House

IS the theme actually innovation or the loss of self into the collective?

Although Bix is successful, we only see him directly in the first chapter. Wondering if the controversy stated in the book, individualism vs collective consciousness is the overarching question.

A lack of privacy and data monetization as well as authenticity are key themes explored in β€œThe Candy House.” Do you give up your privacy when you use Google or Netflix? Are you seen as an individual or merely a commodity? I think those are the key themes in this book.
