The Gangster adores Beli... something she craves and appreciates. He takes her to dinner at the best restaurants and clubs in the city, and he buys her lots of presents. Beli also feels needed when she comforts the Gangster, who is often ovewhelmed by his own crimes. Beli loves the Gangster because no man has ever appreciated her so much in her life.
