In dinner Kotler said to Bruno "I enjoyed history very much when I was a boy". why he said it to Bruno ?

if he wanted to give him something to understand?

Once again, Kotler wants to form a middle ground with Bruno. He is attracted to his mother and wants to ease his way into the household.
