what do we learn about life under the nazi rule from bruno's family

We actually don't learn much from Bruno's family. Bruno's family is quite insulated from the horrors of Nazi rule. His life in Berlin is quite care-free. Bruno's father is high ranking in the military but does his best to shelter his family from what he does. They are even unsure what happens at Auschwitz when they live a few hundred meters from it. It is only when Bruno ventures to the camp that he finds out what the Nazi party does.
