The "Fury" or Fuhrer ordered the deaths of millions on Jews in the concentration camps. Bruno unknowingly joins his friend Shmuel on the other side of the fence, and is thus, killed alongside his friend. Ultimately, this makes the "Fury" (Hitler) responsible for Bruno's murder, as well as the murder of millions of others.
