Bruno's father

Bruno's father did love his children but he seldom expressed his feelings. He was very formal with them. Labels like "bad" and "good" person do not fit with interpretive stories like this book. Bruno's father was part of an entrenched fascist system. He did unspeakably horrifying things. He can, however, still love his children.
