To whom are you referring to? Kotler interacted with all of the main characters in the novel, and generally, all of his interactions were based upon improving his own position in the Nazi regime. His interactions with the imprisoned Jews were cruel. The SS had no compassion..... they murdered the Jews, along with others...... millions of innocent people were murdered in answer to Hitler's agenda.
