What were Hans political views in the time of Hitler's rise to power?

Hans did not agree with Hitler or the Nazi party. He harbors no hate towards others be they Jew, Gentile, black, white or other. He tries his best to remain inconspicuous about his beliefs but cannot help doing little things that get him noticed by the authorities. He paints over anti-semitic graffiti, gives a Jewish prisoner some bread, and hides a Jew, Max, in his basement.
