What is the Conflict in The Book Thief and How is it Resolved?

I have a few ideas for the conflict but not sure how it is resolved.

The main conflict in the story is Liesel's desire and ensuing inability to help Max. The resolution finds Liesel living with the Mayor's wife and Max's eventual return.

How is the Conflict resolved

I think the conflict in the story is Liesel versus society because she is not allowed to help Max because he is a jew and society says that is not allowed. Another reason I think the conflict is Liesel VS. society is because society also limits Liesel to her true identity it only allows her to be seen as either Jewish or not Jewish no freedom of individuality.
