The Book Thief

The Gamblers (A Seven-Sided Die

Is it upsetting to know the outcome of the novel when we are only about half-way through? Why do you think the author chooses to reveal so much so

I don't think this novel was meant to be a cliffhanger. Zusak likes to introduce some dramatic irony to give the reader an added omniscient feeling that effectively bonds us with our protagonist as well as the other characters.
