From the beginning, Hans opens his heart to the little girl. He affords her safety, acts compassionately, and genuinely cares about her. He takes the time to notice her fears and help her through a difficult time, he helps her to learn to read...... most of all, he loves her unconditionally, simply because she needs him. Hans is the best of men.Â
