The Book Thief

Main character development?

In the Book Thief, it can be any but one of the main characters... I need to know their character development. This means how did they change throughout the book maybe there mind set on something or attitude towards something. Thank you, any response is helpful. It would be best of it was at least 2 -3 sentences and on a pretty major change. Thanks!

When Liesle first comes to their home, Rosa is cold, although she's welcoming. She is harsh with Liesel and criticizes her endlessly. After Max's arrival, we see Rosa's demeanor change, especially toward Liesel. Over time, she becomes Liesel's true mother. Possibly, Max brings out the mother in her because she had a son, and had never had a daughter.
