Are Liesel's decisions thoughtful and wise?

Liesel makes many decisions and choices in the story.

I don't think they are always thoughtful and wise. Liesel can be impulsive and rash but that's what makes her such a sympathetic character. At one point she attempts to give an old Jewish man bread knowing full well she would be punished by Nazi soldiers.
