The Bean Trees

What words in this passage help you form a clear picture, or image, of the scene?

"Outside was a bright, wild wonderland of flowers and vegetables and auto parts. Heads of cabbage and lettuce sprouted out of old tires. An entire rusted-out Thunderbird, minus the wheels, had nasturtiums blooming out the windows like Mama's hens-and-chicks pot on the front porch at home."

THe whole passage is filled with natural imagery. Consider the first sentence, "bright, wild wonderland of flowers". The author uses alliteration to bring out a sense of wonder in the vegetation. Words like "blooming" represent the life force that covers this garden with flowers and food.
