Both Taylor and Lou Ann inhabit a world of single motherhood. This apparently is the norm for rural Kentucky. I think much of this chapter has to do with the woman forming a bond and their attitude toward the men in their life who have let them down time and again. Taylor has a problem with attachment which is explored in this chapter. I'm not sure how much this reflects on her role as mother though.

thankyou!!!!
