How are edna and adele contrasted in chapter 7?

Edna is pretty shy. She seldom lets the real person inside of her show. She is very reserved but Adele is slowly changing her. Adele knows who she is and actively assumes her role of perfect mother and wife. Adele is able to bring out Edna's secret longing and desires. Okay that didn't sound good. What I meant is that Edna feels comfortable opening up to Adele.
