Fatima doesn't get a lot of attention in this book. She is the love interest of Santiago. Having no "personal legend" of her own, she convinces Santiago that his personal legend is more important than their union. Only after he fulfills his destiny should he return to her. She teaches Santiago that their love will lack meaning if Santiago doesn't realize his own destiny first.
