What are the difference between the protagonist of The Alchemist (Santiago) . & The protagonist of Being there (Chance))

for example : santiago have a dream and want to achieve it ,But Chance he doesn't have a dream ...................................................

My earlier answer to this question has more depth but on amore superficial level you might consider,

-Chance lives inside all his life / Santiago is a shepherd outside.

-Chance interprets the world through T.V/ Santiago has limited life experience

-Chance is a lot older than Santiago (as I recall)

-There is the whole dream thing you mentioned.

-Santiago is after a more defined purpose / Chance is just put out in the world.
