Why doesn't Huck turn Jim in?

Simply, Huck likes Jim. Huck has a sense of independence which transcends the bigotry he has grown up with. He finds Jim a kindred spirit and by the end of the book knows that Jim is more humane and loyal than any of the white characters in his life.
