The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn

Huck and Tom?

How does Huck appear to be superior to Tom in the last part in the novel?

Huck's heart is always in the right place............... whereas Tom, more often than not, is looking out for himself first.

I think Huck is more concerned with Jim's welfare than Tom. Tom likes the spectacle of it all (releasing Jim) while Huck is truly concerned about his friend.
