How is Huck's increasing maturity shown in these chapters?

Huck is becoming more mature in the chapters where they are with the Wilk's family. His maturity is evident when he not only comments about his dislike of the frauds, but he acts to stop them by stealing the money back for the girls and by telling Mary Jane the truth.
