Huck is not simply a poor boy. He is smart and articulate in his own way. His humour is often dry and understated like when he describes life at the Widow Douglas's place or having to go to church. Huck often reflects on the facts of life and the finer points of human nature. Huck is simple but his humour is often pointed.
