why does Junior feel like he is half-Indian in Reardan?

how does violence/bullying in Reardan and/or Wellpinit affect the way he views himself?

Junior felt that half of him is in the Indian world and, being at Reardan, half of him is in the white world. Junior must navigate through both worlds now which is often filled with prejudice and resentment.
