The game is which Reardon plays the team from the reservation is important because it pits Junior against Rowdy not once.... but twice. In the first game, Junior receives a concussion that takes him out of the game. When the next game begins, he rushes to take the lead from Rowdy and the Reardan team wins. Junior's celebration, however, is momentary, as he quickly finds himself ashamed of his desire for revenge because he knows the difficult lives lived by most of the team (on the reservation).
