Junior realizes that it really doesn't matter if Rearden won or lost. The players on Wellpinit would always lose in life: they don't have a chance. They will remain on the Rez, many becoming broken like their parents. Rowdy will get beat by his father and others will just stop trying at anything:The cycle of poverty will continue and "hope" will always remain out of their reach. Junior realizes that winning against his old team is a hollow feeling. He regrets his showboating and feels ashamed that he lost site of his roots and his people.
