In what ways does Junior maintain his sense of identity?

Even if Junior couldn't maintain his own sense of identity, the pull of the reservation and the experiences of his family would do it for him. Junior is very level headed, and his goal is distinct. He is taking the opportunity he's been given, and he's going to make the most of it... but he's not going to forget his family, the reservation, or the pits and downfalls of those who remain behind.
