expression?

In the novel I see that their is a lot of expression being used but, using the liteary devices is their a part of the novel that shows any literary devices of expression? Except the fact that Junior expreses himself by drawing is their any other way he expreses himself?

I think that what makes this book so expressive is is Junior's witty and unique writer's voice. He has a quirky humor to him that is both endearing and insightful. Consider these quotes from Junior:

“If you let people into your life a little bit, they can be pretty damn amazing.”
“Life is a constant struggle between being an individual and being a member of the community.”
