How did mark get into trouble with the law?

Byron reports Mark's drug dealing to the police. He is arrested.

He was selling LSD to the hippies and random people. Bryon did the right thing by telling the police but he did lose his best friend. Even though mark was just trying to make money for the family, he did do something that was illegal to do, especially for at his age.
