We know that the car with rear wheel drive has less maximum acceleration than maximum deceleration. The reason is this: since the drive wheels are in the rear, away from the engine, the normal force on the drive wheels is decreased (compared to the wheels being in the front) and there is less acceleration. On the other hand, when brakes are applied, all four wheels are used and thus a huge amount of friction is provided.
