Chapter 16 - Temperature and Heat - Conceptual Questions - Page 565: 4

Answer

No.

Work Step by Step

A hot object has greater TEMPERATURE than the cold object. Heat is the energy passed from the hotter object to the colder one, but we can't say that an object has some quantity of heat within itself. Heat is energy that is either received from or given to another object. When the difference in temperature between objects is higher, more heat is transferred than when the temperature difference is lower.
