See Figure 27-4. The peak of the 2000 K lightbulb’s emitted radiation is in the infrared region. The sun has a higher temperature such that its spectrum peaks in the visible range (perhaps not surprisingly, that is the visual range at which much of life evolved to become sensitive to), and appears more white (i.e., less yellow) than the lightbulb.
