Chapter 19 - DC Circuits - Questions - Page 549: 5

Answer

The double outlets are connected in parallel.

Work Step by Step

Both outlets supply the same voltage to whatever is plugged in, which supports the fact that they are wired in parallel. Also, if they were wired in series, then both outlets would have to be used at the same time in order for them to work. This is not observed.
